Khartoum, May 25 (SUNA) – The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, will leave on Thursday for Mauritania to participate in the meetings of the Council of the Arab Economic Unity, which are being held from 23 to 27 May in the Mauritanian capital Nouakchott.

The Sudanese delegation has left for Nouakchott to participate in the technical meetings of the 113th session of the Council of Economic Unity with the participation of representatives of Arab countries, where Sudan will chair the current session.

The Director of the Economic Grouping Department at the Ministry of Finance, Dr. Ahmed Al-Sharif Mohamed, is heading the technical side of Sudan delegation, while the ministerial side is headed the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim.

Ahmed Al-Sharif said that the agenda for the current session include a number of topics, the most important of which are the periodic meeting of Arab unions, the meeting of the investment and trade mechanism in the Arab countries, the third periodic meeting of joint Arab companies, in addition to the annual conference on the role of specialized Arab federations to promote Arab economic integration and the Forum of the Arab Businessmen.

He stated that the meeting of the 113th regular session at the level of representatives, the permanent representatives and the ministerial meeting will be held during May 26 and 27, indicating that these meetings were preceded by expanded meetings in which a number of ministers, Mauritanian officials, unions and specialized Arab companies have participated, in addition to the meeting of the Investment and Trade Development Mechanism in Arab countries.
